Abstrait

The author determined that it was possible to develop an effective, time-sensitive, and transferable method for teaching basic Christian doctrine to outbound missionaries working with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention during their initial eight-week field personnel orientation. Following a review of the New Testament emphasis on sound doctrine as related to church planting, and the IMB's current strategy for evangelism and church planting, an eight-hour doctrinal course was developed, implemented and tested over a 16-month period with positive results. The doctrinal course is included in each field personnel orientation.
