Abstrait

Costa Rican churches often start under the leadership of the laymen. When they grow into the need for a full-time pastor, the laymen are often reluctant to give up control, while the pastor expects to exercize unquestioned authority. The resultant tension can be very destructive. The project presents a pastoral model which seeks to help both groups to minister together harmoniously. Both are seen to be necessary for the proper function of the church. A clearer understanding of the biblical roles of church leaders is important to this discussion.
