Abstracto

The project sought to energize and coordinate the training of a core group of lay parishioners of St Mark's parish, Arlington, Texas, in the ministries of evangelization. The project includes the recruitment of the core group and their academic training via workshop, reading, and five evening training sessions with presentations by persons gifted in evangelization. It also includes their spiritual formation through a quiet day, worship, contemplation, and reflection upon study, and limited field experience in selected ministries of evangelization. The project provides opportunities for prayer and reflection upon this part of the mission of the church to more effectively proclaim the gospel in word and deed. Drawing upon this experience, the core group engages in the training of others for this ministry. The project provides for the continuation of the core group to work after the project's completion as leaven within the parish to foster and nurture the desire to do evangelization.
