Abstrait

This thesis examines how the Great Commission relates to women's ministry and how women's ministry fits within the church's overall ministry. The church's primary mission is carrying out the task of fulfilling the Great Commission, and the New Testament concept of discipleship is the primary focus of the church's ministry. The New Testament concept of discipleship is imitating Christ to become like Him in love, obedience, and good work; thus, the goal of the church's overall ministry is the believer's Christian maturity to the fullness of Christ. Committing one's life to Jesus Christ and faithfully following Him, and leading others to be His disciples is true Christian ministry: as practiced by women to women, this is true women's ministry. Women following Jesus Christ and becoming disciple-makers in a theology for effective ministry to women. Mobilizing women to live out that theology is the Christian practice for women in the twenty-first-century church. Therefore, a call is made to mobilize women to follow Jesus Christ and become disciple-makers of the twenty-first century.
