Abstract
  • Using the principles of Blessed Based Spiritual Nurture, this study used qualitative data (collected from verbatims of ten children and teens) to describe in detail a pastoral care model developed and originally used at First Steps Spirituality Center. The model allows children, with the companionship of a spiritual support provider, to name their pain, spend time with God, and move from despair to hope, finding peace through discovering spiritual integration. This document includes biblical, theological, and historical foundations that defend the appropriateness of, and the need for, pastoral care to be provided for children in trauma.
