- Abstract
- This project helped a congregation explore the meaning of stewardship through the work of a stewardship committee. The committee was exposed to the Hebrew Scriptures' understanding of the steward as the responsible householder of all creation and the Christian Scriptures' emphasis on Jesus Christ as God's chief steward. After studying the nature of human identity and transformation, the committee then helped plan a sermon series on stewardship, recruited and conducted a sermon response group, and formulated a fall financial campaign. Evaluation suggested that the greatest change in attitude and behavior occurred within the people most involved in the educational process.
