  • The goal of this project is to develop an effective model for the training of seminary field supervisors. It includes a critical, historical analysis of supervision within the Pentecostal context. The author concludes that ministry supervision is undergirded by three confessional elements which legitimate Pentecostal ministry. The three confessional elements which serve as an interpretive framework for the educational design of Pentecostal supervision are 1) supervision as covenant; 2) supervision as character; and 3) supervision as commission. An educational design for training field supervisors finally must be focused, refined, interpreted and, at times, limited by the way this particular Pentecostal group views its purpose and mission within the broader church.
