Abstract
  • Chinese churches in NYC have been losing their English-speaking next generation. This research is to find out factors that enable the leaders to effectively equip their youths. This study employs descriptive research methodology and concentrates in three research questions: What are the characteristics of the effective leaders? What are the practices of the effective leaders? What makes effective leadership teams? The findings rest on interviews with leaders of five effective Chinese churches of NYC (BCCC, FaBC, FiBC, NYCAC, and OCM), InterVarsity, and Seekers. Findings show that the key characteristic is 'connecting,' practices include relationship and responsibility; unity and diversity contribute to effective leadership teams.
