  • This project proposes that the use of a Jungian approach to the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius, together with the extensive use of creative arts, can increase the relevance of the Exercises to the contemporary journey towards wholeness. Using narrative qualitative research methods, the researcher followed the progress of a Protestant woman through the Exercises in 1997 as she sought a deeper connection with Jung's feminine principle, exploring the feminine side of herself, society and God. The research showed that the use of the Jungian approach together with creative arts led to a rich and rewarding experience of the Exercises.
