  • The purpose of this ministry research project was to guide the leadership of the First Baptist Church of Surgoinsville, Tennessee toward a renewed understanding of the nature and function of the church. The project had three goals. First, it sought to increase the knowledge of the leaders of the church regarding the nature and function of the church. The second was to create an environment of openness to the leadership of the Holy Spirit among the church leaders in worship, ministry and the planning process. The third goal was to establish goals and action plans for balancing the structural and spiritual elements within the life of the church.
