  • Many mainline congregations throughout North America are in a state of decline because they lack a clearly defined strategy to impact their postmodern communities. Drawing on the insights of Icenogle and Osiek & Balch, this project focuses on helping one such congregation, Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church in Caldwell, Idaho, develop an articulated strategy of building intentional community through the medium of home-based small groups. Through the development of a prototype group and the church's leadership this approach gave Boone Church the necessary means to articulate and accomplish its God-given missional strategy.
