One out of everry four women is sexualy abused before the age of eighteen. Many of these women keep the abuse 'secret.' As a result they must deal with its long-term effects in their adult lives. These victims come to therapy with a false presentation. Underlying the neurotic symptoms they present are the long-term negative effects of sexual abuse. The project outlines cues to identification and a suggested treatment plan for post-traumatic stress disorder that includes both individual and group therapy. A review of the literature as well as case material supplements the theory.
