  • This thesis-project is about leadership in Catholic schools in Australia, and from among those schools, Marist schools in particular. It proposes that there is a call from within and beyond the church to a new form of leadership; one that is more intentionally ecclesial, more prophetic and more mystical. The thesis-project explores contemporary understandings of prophecy and mysticism, and how a prophetic-mystical style of leadership might be appropriated by Catholic school leaders. In relation to Marist schools, it proposes that a reappropriation of the founder of Marist education, St Marcellin Champagnat, might help realize this new form of ecclesial leadership.
