  • The purpose of this study is to develop pastoral care programs as a hospice care for terminally ill patients and their families. Reference materials relating to pastoral care as hospice care were examined. The biblical and theological understanding of death and dying were also reviewed. Interviews were conducted for volunteer hospice caregivers, hospice medical doctors, hospice chaplains, dying patients, and the bereaved families. From these interviews, guidelines to pastoral care for terminally ill patients and their families were developed.
