- The goal of this study is to determine the role of godly character in biblical leadership as evidenced in the scripture and current Christian leadership. Biblical insights on leadership and character are examined. The author interviews contemporary Christian leaders in every geographical region in the United States. Three of the fifteen questions discussed in selected interviews are evaluated carefully in this study. These questions cover moral failure, moral precautions and personal integrity. Responses to a fourth question which relates to servant leadership are woven into chapters four and five. Explanations are given for why many Christian leaders fail in the ministry. Suggestions are given regarding moral precautions for persons in ministry. The interviews show a strong conviction that personal honesty is directly related to moral purity. Christian leaders are encouraged to be men and women who are committed to godly character. The very heart of biblical leadership is centered around holy living.
