Abstract
  • The purpose of the study was to convince the adult church members that hearing the preached word of God was vital to congregational worship, to identify their listening problems, and to design a program to develop their listening skills. A sermon series was preached and an eight-week training program was implemented among project participants. Worship surveys and a pretest/posttest were utilized to evaluate the study. The conclusions were that individuals can be convinced that hearing the preached word of God is vital to congregational worship, that listening problems can be identified, and that listening skills can be taught.
