Abstrait

The lack of strong father figures and the neglect of the initiation of boys into mature manhood contribute to the antisocial and violent behaviors among young males. The church often lacks ministries that channel the warrior spirits in boys in healthy directions. The author explored the father-son metaphors in the Scripture and various warrior traditions and identified valuable ethical elements for a ministry focused on initiation. He demonstrated how these key ethical elements could be combined with a distinctively Christian martial arts ministry resulting in boys being related to Christ and learning essential Christian life lessons.
