- The author researched stewardship as it is currently practiced in local congregations, and expanded that research to include how stewardship is best practiced in the Wesleyan tradition. The principal idea used was John Wesley's admonition to 'earn all you can, save all you can, and give all you can.' This method can be applied to finances and all aspects of discipleship. The author used a four-week Bible study to examine this holistic method of stewardship. In examining biblical passages in light of the theme for the lesson, he was able to address issues of the stewardship development.
