Abstract
  • This project addresses the need for seminarians to be trained more thoroughly in the communicational design of the sermon, with particular focus upon the movement from textual idea to sermon form. The central thesis of this study is that there is an organic connection between text and sermon at the level of form. Throughout the study it is assumed that form and content are inseparable but distinguishable. Haddon Robinson's homiletical method was taught to twelve students, and a comparative analysis of precourse and postcourse sermons showed significant improvement.
