  • This is a broad introduction for those interested in clown ministry. After presenting Biblical, historical, theological and psychological rationales for clown ministry, the work describes the spiritual journey of the 'clown of faith.' In subsequent pages there are helpful descriptions of clown 'hardware' (make-up, costumes, props, etc.). The principal part of the guidebook is found in chapters five through nine which describe different 'levels' of clown ministry. These increasingly demanding applications move through special event clowning, a nursing home model, liturgical applications, clinician modes and finally, the clown as prophet. The work concludes with an evaluation of the future of clown ministry.
