  • Small synagogues that once dotted small town Southern life are growing older and facing the possibilities of closing. This project focuses on the emotion issues that the congregants who are from these small congregations face. Through interviews conducted with these congregants, this work draws out the emotion and sacred views of both those who stayed and those who left for larger cities. This work also explores models for the congregation to continue towards its end with sacred purpose, and the possibilities beyond the lives of its members.
