  • Is the God image more significantly present in recovering alcoholics who have used AA than in alcoholics who have little experience with that program and, is there a correlation between God image and object relations? Using Richard Lawrence's God Image Inventory and the Bell Object Relations Inventory, the author obtained scores from AA members who had over two years of experience in AA and a sample of recently sober alcoholics in various detox units who had little or no exposure to AA. Results of the T-test showed a significant difference between scores of the two populations and a positive and meaningful correlation between GIS and BORI scores.
