  • Caribbean Christian immigrants to the USA need a preaching ministry that recognizes their identity and addresses the challenges they face daily. This study explores aspects of Caribbean immigrant identity and Caribbean Christian thinking. Using exegesis of Peter's first letter, written to persons he describes as 'aliens' and 'strangers,' and using interviews and questionnaires, the study seeks to develop a perspective for preachers who will minister to 'diasporic Caribbean Christians.' It finds that 'diasporic Christianity' is valid, that First Peter addresses diasporic Christianity issues, and that Christians in the US, even if not immigrants, any experience some diasporic realities.
