Abstract
  • The author used Robert Raikes' approach of implementing Sunday schools and the schools started by Daniel A. Payne, AME Bishop, as an effective model to implement a Tutorial Ministry in a rural context with limited resources and physical space. The book entitled, Pathway to Renewal was used as a guide during the Implementation and Preliminary Phase of the Tutorial Ministry. Since the church desires to positively impact literacy rates and increase mentorships, the ability to maximize available resources, establish partnerships with other churches and seek financial assistance will be essential for enhancement and long-term sustainability.
