Abstract
  • This project fosters guided spiritual development for members a local African Methodist Episcopal Zion congregation through encouraging an attitude of caring for families outside the church who need support. In worship services with focused sermons, formal and informal group discussions, and two in-house retreats the project leads church members to growth in servant ministry, sensitivity, care, and accountability for families outside the congregation, providing opportunity for the church to live up to its claim of being a 'caring' people.
