  • Keeping church members active and involved is a challenge in any church. It is even more difficult in a congregation made up of members from the baby boomer and baby buster generations. These individuals have an aversion to making commitments. This project teaches deacons how to maintain involvement of baby boomers and baby busters in an effort to reduce the growing number of inactive church members. The project begins with training of deacons over seven weeks. Deacons then interview inactive members to determine what factors led to their reduced involvement. This information is used to identify needs of members at risk of becoming inactive The project seeks to maintain these Christians as active members of the congregation.
