This project proposes to provide a forum in which church members can learn to evaluate effectiveness of narrative preaching, equipping them to determine whether a narrative sermon communicates the content and message of Scripture texts, and thereby to determine whether narrative preaching can communicate effectively to laypersons in a media-influenced society. The project presents a series of sermons contrasting propositional preaching (exposition) with representational preaching (encounter) to be evaluated by two groups.
