- The primary thesis of the dissertation is that many structural failures of present-day national church/expatriate missionary partnerships in Latin America are traceable in part to historical predispositions lying, generally unseen, at the basis of the partnership. The method of studying the thesis is through historical-theological investigation. After the uncovering of certain historical presuppositions underlying much of traditional mission work--tracing elements of Constantinian Christianity through Europe to the New World--the author presents five principles governing a more liberating, globalized mission.
