Abstract
  • The purpose of the project was to create a five-member 'Preaching Advisory Team' to guide the preaching ministry at First Baptist Church of Kaufman. It was desired that this project would improve the preaching ministry of the church, improve the preaching effectiveness of the pastor, and provide a model for future use. The project leader researched the pulpit/pew relationship through both theological and theoretical sources. It was determined that the modern pastor needs to come down to, connect with, cooperate within the congregation. The pastor should also employ theories of persuasion, communication, counseling, and adult education in formulating the preaching agenda.
