  • Each Sunday churches are host to hurting people who desire to hear from the pulpit a word of God that demonstrates understanding and provides comfort, strength, and hope. Preaching as pastoral care extends the ministry Jesus gave his disciples to proclaim good news and cure every disease and sickness. This project tells the author's personal story with research and reflection on pastoral care as preaching over a two-year period. The project emphasizes awareness of congregational hurts and troubles, use of personal stories as an effective communication tool, confidentiality, and preaching style.
