  • Rapid growth in the membership of the Evangelical Community of the Ubangi Mongala has opened the door for a high proportion of nominal Christians to occupy its ranks. This thesis discusses the universal problem of nominalism and offers a plan to reduce the high proportion of nominal Christians through the introduction of a specialized training program for pastors which concentrates on nurturing and discipling new converts to the point where they become self-motivating. The author highlights anthropological and historical factors which have contributed to the problem of nominalism. The religious climate and management style of the church are examined in depth.
