Abstract
  • This is an analysis of a controlled research design to test attitudinal and behavioral changes in persons as a result of attending a week-long residential training event. Participants and a control group matched by age and sex were administered a self-inventory test designed to measure change in the four areas investigated in the training event. Both groups were given a pre-test immediately preceding the event and then a post-test two months later. The four areas in which change was measured are: increased self-awareness and self-acceptance, more effective group building, greater discernment and enabling of individual gifts, increased commitment to ministry. The thesis concludes an analysis of the data generated as well as a theological and psychological rationale for the leadership training institute.
