Abstract
  • Since Vatican Council II, no group in the Roman Catholic church has taken more seriously the call for renewal than the women religious. In order to understand their commitments and choices, this dissertation is a study of these women's roots and renewal by a survey which is compiled and interpreted. These women have been the leaders and have formed the heart behind the growth in the Roman Catholic church during the last twenty-five years. The thesis is a tribute and gift to these women and, it is hoped, will contribute to their on-going renewal and preparation for the 21st century.
