- 'Bisser' evangelism describes a runner announcing the world-changing event in Jesus Christ, who continues to change the world, to a receiver. As an individual or a congregation, it is done one on one. As individuals, congregations are located in changing neighborhoods. 'Bisser' evangelism grew out of the reading of Walter Brueggemann's book, Israel's Praises, classes and workshops, and the ministry projects with Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (Elgin, Ill), which existed in a changing neighborhood. When the runner contacts with another through the four dimensions of life (sociological, psychological, theological, and literary), 'Bisser' evangelism involves thinking one's own faith and the faith and life's dimensions of the other. Anyone involved with 'bisser' evangelism changes the world.
