  • The objective of this project was to develop an ongoing intercessory prayer ministry at First Baptist Church (Spartanburg, SC). The author's method involved taking a group of twenty people through a twelve-week training process, equipping them to become the nucleus for the prayer ministry. Research included biblical and historical emphases on intercessory prayer as well as material from current ongoing prayer ministries. At the conclusion of the training period all twenty participants became involved in the intercessory prayer ministry as well as 139 others. First Baptist Church (Spartanburg, SC) now has twenty-four hour a day intercessory prayer ministry as a consequence of this project.
