This thesis project discusses the congregation during the interim time (the time between installed pastors). Beginning with a discussion of the interim time and developmental tasks to be accomplished during the interim time, the paper next develops a biblical theology for the interim time. Following chapters discuss tools (using systems theory) to analyze the interim congregation; leadership necessary for renewal; discussion of expository preaching; and suggestions for leading the interim congregation in renewed prayer.
