  • This report contains the findings of an evaluative-descriptive project which compared the work-satisfaction of twelve Roman Catholic priests in six team and six traditional style urban parochial ministries. The project was designed as a qualitative study. The methodology was that of the participant-observer. Through the use of disciplined attention to and comparison of settings, persons, actions, events, words and interview material four factors were found to give work satisfaction: dominion, sharing, freedom and vision. Theological reflection found these to be related to the biblical themes of: stewardship, service, grace and promise.
