Abstract
  • This paper examines contemporary models of youth ministry with consideration given to their theological basis and ministry implications. Attention is given to the history and path of youth ministry in the United States. An attempt is made to identify theologically faithful and practically viable approaches to youth ministry. Time is given to understanding youth culture and the media's influence on youth ministry. The local church and the local church youth minister is still the best answer to reaching postmodern young people with the love and hope found only in Jesus Christ.
