  • Money is not a neutral material necessity used by the church for institutional survival. Money is part of God's creation. It has spiritual value and theological implications. This project examines selected Old and New Testament passages and the socioeconomic and historical dimensions of money. These findings are synthesized into a theology of money for the church. The result is a biblical understanding of money and possessions as a sign of God's invisible grace made visible. Thus the acquistion and use of money and possessions serve the purposes of God among humankind.
