Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to impact the core longings among a select group of African-American women from Richmond, Virginia who had suffered a significant loss through participating in an eight-week small group curriculum on formatinal healing. The project design included the administration of pre-test and post-test questionnaires and the completion of weekly spiritual assignments. The results using the formational curriculum revealed that the participants were able to identify the presence of grief and process through their emotions and loss. Participants improved as they learned new disciplines to aid in deeper spiritual encounters with God.
