  • This project covers the scriptural background of the Lord's Supper and its historical development in the Christian tradition. It focuses on the eating experiences of Jesus and the spirit of his ministry. It concludes that communion should be open to all, especially since it proclaims His death which was for all. Eating together should give us a sense of solidarity with our sisters and brothers throughout the world and identify us with their sufferings and joys. The project contains recent Eucharistic liturgies, many of which are from Third World countries. It includes an extensive bibliography and the text of the author's 'Solidarity Liturgy' which is espescially appropriate for World Communion. The work focuses on the seminal WCC document, 'Baptism, Eucharist and Ministry'.
