Abstracto

The purpose of this project in ministry was to equip selected leaders of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia, to give a biblical response to the prosperity gospel. This group consisted of associate ministers, deacons, trustees, Minister of Education, Sunday school teachers, and youth directors. The project consisted of three phases. First, the project director researched the teachings of the prosperity gospel in order to equip the selected leaders to give a biblical response. Secondly, the director developed training curriculum from an annotated bibliography that was evaluated by Dr. Page Brooks, Assistant Professor of Theology and Islamic studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). Finally, the director equipped the selected leaders of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia, to give a biblical response to selected teachings of the prosperity gospel.
