Abstract
  • This work develops a homiletic method that is effective in a postmodern setting while retaining a law gospel tension. The epochal shift, from modernity to postmodernity is described in terms of epistemology, authority, and progress. A reinterpretation of the law/gospel dialectic and a collection of homiletic tools are offered to address this shift. The reflection of a focus group on a series of sermon demonstrates that a reinterpretation of the law/gospel dialectic, assisted by new models of preaching, can address the unique challenges of a postmodern context.
