Being ready to preach week after week takes planning. This project identifies the issues of preaching readiness, develops a readiness formula, and provides for the preaching pastor a tool for structuring a personal readiness routine. The research design combines an analysis of preachers in the Bible, a content analysis of homiletic literature, a readiness journal, dialogical interviews with preaching pastors, and a self-study instrument for preaching readiness field-tested by ten preachers. Outlines for a one-hour and a one-day seminar on preaching readiness are offered.
