Abstracto

This research project has four objectives. First, it will illustrate the Adventist approach to counseling in the past by looking at the historical context of the Advent movement, its operative psychological model, and its counseling practice in its early years. Second, this project will assess contemporary counseling within the church and how we got here. Third, it will compare and contrast the historic and current counseling approaches through case studies. And, finally, this project will synthesize the previous material presented into a seminar designed to inform and equip pastors and lay people with the fundamental skills necessary to counsel biblically.
