  • This project describes the 175th anniversary celebration of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, Ohio. The celebration was a goal-setting project in which the congregation developed a strategy for determining its future mission. The thesis of this project is that the process of developing a mission strategy within the congregation results in a shift of focus by members away from a maintenance orientation and toward a mission orientation. An instrument designed to measure any change of orientation was administered to the congregation. The findings indicated that a perceptible but not statistically significant shift did occur during the celebration.
