Abstract
  • The scope of this project is the education of the young child in the Christian education setting. Through the use of an ethnographic sketch, the author shows how one church transitioned from a Sunday School model resembling traditional schooling to a model that understands Christian education as a process of formation. The author introduces a teaching manual that draws upon the 'Workshop Rotation Model' for Sunday School. She sets this model within a theological framework, underscores the importance of developmentally appropriate practice, and identifies practices of the faith inherent in the Workshop Rotation Model.
