Abstract
  • The purpose of this ministry project was to empower select staff women from Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, for increased ministerial excellence through mentoring. In the context of an eight-week, learning-focused, mentoring relationship, participants developed leadership and communication skills, and set goals for spiritual and ministerial growth. All participants showed growth in all specified areas in their final assessment of the mentoring program. The project director identified five leadership skills, five communication skills and five spiritual formation qualities necessary for ministry excellence. The director identified five program strengths and weaknesses and recommended changes for future Saddleback mentoring programs.
