Abstracto

This thesis describes a new theory of spirituality and a quantitative instrument designed to assess the presence of each of its six dimensions of spirituality. Five group of people, including samples of vulnerable populations such as military veterans and prisoners, completed this inventory. Two better-known spirituality instruments were included in the test battery for comparison with the new instrument. Significant differences were found among the various demographic groups using the new spirituality inventory. High correlations were also established between this new instrument and the two validated instruments. Suggestions for future research are included.
