  • This research conducted explored the thesis that the media can be used to implement a radio ministry for alcohol prevention for adults. Data gathered are the results of the evauation of a four month program for an alcohol prevention project. Thirty two adults made up the target group. Subjects were pre- and post-tested on the following variables: building bonds, mobilizing coalitions, increasing awareness in skills and resources and mobilizing family and extended family. Results indicated that the program had a significant positive impact on the target subjects in reference to all variables tested. This model proposes utilizing media to enhance alcohol prevention initiatives.
